Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day (Both in and out of the workplace)?
Because women are incredible! The women at BLUNT are an absolute driving force for success – we deserve a day to acknowledge the powerhouse we are! Many of us will experience inequality and discrimination during the course of our careers, we need to keep talking about it so it’s not taboo.
What is the most important piece of career advice you have been given?
You’ll never feel ready and to learn to be comfortable with that. Oh, and to not be afraid of failure or let failure define you. Without risk there isn’t growth – don’t let the fear of failure hold you back from trying something new, you will always come out the other side with more wisdom, even if it does turn to custard.
Which BLUNT do you think describes you/ your personality?
Melon Check – I love a bit of fun and creativity (cue the bright greens) but also like to be organised and process oriented, that’s where the check pattern comes in. Also because I designed it and green is my favourite colour so I feel like there’s a little bit of me in there!

Why do you think it is important to celebrate International Women’s Day (Both in and out of the workplace)?
Women should be celebrated every bloody day of the year. Our ability to wear many different hats in many different situations and be able to switch hats at the drop of a hat is no mean feat. As a general rule, we tend to take on more than our male counterparts especially on the emotional side of life, this is often a role that is taken for granted, with limited expressions of gratitude - so a special day to celebrate women all over the world is a beautiful thing.
What is the most important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?
You are not an imposter. You don't need to know everything before you leap in. Take any opportunity and jump in feet first - if you work hard, people will respect you, and you will learn. You may not get it right the first time, so if it doesn't make you happy, change direction!
Which BLUNT do you think describes you/ your personality?
I am a pink classic for sure - bold and colourful! I like to brighten up a room and look after those around me. The Classic model allows me to shelter someone else in need.

True success hinges on self-belief. While professional development is necessary, it’s equally important to stay true to your authentic self. I’m definitely guilty of chasing ‘aspirational’ ideals then taking steps back to refocus my efforts.

Your resilience will be your greatest asset! In a world where challenges and setbacks are inevitable, the ability to bounce back, adapt, and persevere is crucial for achieving success and fulfilment in both your career and personal lives. What are the most effective ways to counteract the negative stereotypes of feminism, especially in the workplace?
Counteracting any negative stereotype involves uncovering and examining unconscious bias both yourself, and as a team. Changing previous misinterpretations of people is always easier in a group! As this is advanced, the gap between events and interpretation will shrink, as everyone will see clearer.
